Watch out for "3 rooms for $99" ads
You've probably seen carpet cleaning ads promising whole rooms for very low prices. Many of those prices only cover a small "room" size, then add charges at the door for pre-treatment, deodorizer, spot removal, moving furniture or a "deep clean" upgrade. The final bill often ends up higher than an honest price would have been.

What can change the price
Extras like stairs, hallways, closets and area rugs add to the total. Strong pet odor may need an enzyme treatment. Every visit has a minimum, and 3 rooms ($210) meets it. If you're adding upholstery, tile or hardwood that comes to more than $210, each carpeted room drops to $50 instead of $70.
